Nolan's 9 Month Pictures

Last month we got Nolan's pictures taken, again. I actually had a hard time coming up with ideas for them, as I feel like we've done so many themes already!

Since his daddy likes fishing so much we decided to put him in a little boat and embellish his shirt with things from Stevie's tackle box. I do wish we would of had a mini fishing pole too though.:( We also got some more with the dump truck, of course, and then a few in just some different outfits.

Nolan definitely was not as cooperative as he was during his 6 month pics, but our photographer is awesome and got some adorable shots!

My most FAVORITE picture from this session:

He always does that with his lips and it is so darn adorable.

Easter Basket Ideas

Easter is fast approaching and I still have not finished Nolan's Easter basket! I have a lot of ideas for it, and I'm sure that I will go way overboard. But hey, I'd rather do it now while he's a baby. At least he doesn't know that I'm spoiling him!

I know that I want to get him some summer clothes, an outdoor swing, and a pool float. I always get a book or two for every gift, and some sort of stuffed animal. He also needs some new sippy cups, and shoes. And, I'm going to buy a big enough basket that I can just use it in his room for toy storage after Easter.

I plan on throwing in some bubbles, I know he will be fascinated by them, and some snacks. He loves puffs, of course. Doesn't every baby? I bought this super cute container for them that I found on Instagram. It's on sale right now for $5. I really want to try and make some homemade puffs. Anyone know of a good recipe?
Maybe some carrot flavored ones that the Easter bunny would enjoy too? ;)

We got Nolan's picture taken with him yesterday..

I thought that he would be scared but, he actually liked him. He kept looking back at him and even laid his head on him like he was trying to snuggle. It was adorable.

A couple weeks ago we got his pictures taken with a real bunny too. I will be sharing them soon!

Happy almost Easter!

Baby Toy Favorites: 6 Months

We said farewell to our baby swing this week.
I have been dreading the day that it could no longer be used. My chunky baby is far too big and strong for it. He used to sleep in it for hours. Now he just pulls on the toys that hang from the mobile causing it to make a crazy sound, and kicks his legs so hard that it makes the entire thing shake. He's a wild one.

Although I get more and more sad with each thing that he out grows, it's also so exciting to watch him move on to other things. I wanted to share his favorite toys over the past month.

One // Two // Three // Four // Five // Six // Seven // Eight // Nine // Ten // Eleven

1. This activity gym is so cool because it's a play mat and a ball bit. Nolan loves to sit in the middle of all of the balls and try to put one after another into his mouth. I put a bunch of toys in it too and he is occupied for a while.

2. He cracks me up with this stacker, he will immediately pull the rings off every time I stack them.

3. He really enjoys dumping things out of their container, so this block set is perfect.

4. The Sophie teether is seriously famous. We usually have it with us everywhere we go and so many people have said things like "look, he's got his Sophie". It really is the best teether, Nolan loves chewing on the ears and making it squeak.

5. This remote is our go to toy for car rides. It's easy for him to hold and push the buttons himself, and he likes that it lights up.

6. We have a couple of different stuffed animals like this one. Nolan smiles every time they sing, it's the cutest thing ever.

7. He goes absolutely wild jumping in this jumper. He has a blast in it, and makes everyone around laugh.

8. I have a bunch of these teethers in our freezer at all times. They are cheap, easy to wash and seem to ease his teething discomfort.

9. This piano has been one of his favorites for a few months now. Anything with lights and music is amusing.

10. He enjoys flipping the pages in this book, and of course, because it also has lights and music.

11. I was actually pretty amazed when I put him in this walker and he started moving all around the kitchen. He thinks it's pretty funny to plow into everything with it, and I kinda do too.

I'm looking forward to picking out some outside toys as the weather gets warmer. I'm picturing a little blue swing hanging from our tree in the backyard.

I'd love to hear about every ones favorite outdoor toys for their kids!?

Has it really been six months

It was a Saturday night, the middle of the night, and I was laying in bed wide awake just staring at my sleeping baby. And I realized that he had just turned six months old that day, how could he possibly be six months old already?

I could not fall back asleep. I honestly felt like I could not remember what my baby was like just a couple months prior. I mean sure, I had taken at least ten pictures of him everyday of his life so far. But, that just didn't seem like enough. So four days later we were back at our photographer's studio for some six month pics.

And, I was also anxiously awaiting a package:

How in the hell did I go six months without buying a baby book?

This milestone also gave me a great excuse to have a dinner party. And so begins the half birthday dinner planning. I guess half birthdays are like a thing now. Who knew?

And if you're wondering...

Yes, my lack of memory is what prompted me to start a blog.
