Mama & Mr. Style: St Patrick's Day

It's warming up here in Michigan! I am beyond excited to put away the winter coats and bring out the spring jackets. And by bring them out, I mean go shopping for new ones. I found the cutest almost matching jackets ever this week. Because, well, there's nothing cuter than matching your little mini... even if that mini is a Mr.

I'm favoring green lately, which is perfect since St. Patty's day is this week! Rather than buying stuff with four leaf clovers and luck related sayings, I prefer to just get the stuff that we can wear again and again.

Here are some of my favorite springy green picks for matching your mini.

The moccs in the picture are Freshly Picked, but I bought some much cheaper ones here that are just as cute. Nolan is rocking them today, along with this adorable Old Navy hat that I'm in love with.

I tried to get him to smile, but instead I got the you're crazy look.

And soon after that, the hat was off and he was rolling away from me.

He's getting so mobile! It's going to be a fun spring/summer with this little babe. :)

Happy almost St Patrick's Day!

Diaper Deals

I got a pretty good deal on diapers and wipes today and wanted to share. Just in case anyone likes couponing as much as I do, and wants to get the deal as well. :)

4 boxes of diapers and 1 box of wipes for $52.82 from Target.

At Target you can use a cartwheel (an app) deal, store coupon, and manufacturer coupon together. Plus they have a gift card offer out right now: $20 GC with the purchase of three boxes of diapers (Pampers, Huggies, Up&Up and Honest Company brands).

For my first transaction I bought the two boxes of Honest Diapers (my favorite brand), and the box of Huggies. My Target redcard (it's a debit card) took off 5%, then I used cartwheel for 5% off of the Huggies. I had a Target coupon that they sent me in the mail for $10 off of $50 worth of diapers/wipes. Also, I used the $10 off of 2 boxes of Honest Diapers that I got from target mobile coupons (text BABY4 to 827438 to receive them). Last I used a $2 manufacturer coupon off of the Huggies. Bringing my total to 49.77, and received the $20 gift card.

For the second transaction I bought the wipes and Luvs diapers (I'm not a huge fan of Luvs, but I couldn't pass up the deal). My Target redcard took 5% off again. Then another cartwheel offer for 10% off of the Luvs, as well as a $0.75 off manufacturer coupon. Then another manufacturer coupon for $2 off of the wipes. I used my $20 gift card to pay for them. After that, my total was $8.05.

Then... I used an Ibotta app rebate (if you don't have it, get it!..it's so easy to use) for $5 back for the Luvs diapers. Bringing the total down to $52.82. Yay!

Nolan is 8 Months Old

Time is flying by over here, and March means that my baby is 8 months old! I wanted to do a post on my little man as he is currently, because he is changing so fast. I can't believe he will be one in four short months (insert crying emoji here).

Age: 8 months

Stats: Weighs 21 lbs 13 oz and is 2 ft 4 inches tall.

Sizes: 4 in diapers, 12 months in clothes.

Words: Mama and Dada.

Nicknames: Nolie, Nolie-polie, and chubs.

Milestones: Pulls himself up to standing position while holding onto something.
Tries to crawl, but mainly just scoots himself backwards.
His pincer grasp is well developed, he grabs everything!
Can drink from a sippy cup and a straw.

Foods: I make homemade baby food and it has been going pretty good. His favorites are green beans, sweet potatoes and avocados. He also can't get enough puffs! He very much dislikes carrots. We're just starting to try more solid of foods. He really likes to feed himself, so I bought this feeder, and we love it.

Favorite Things: Me! He is my velcro baby, always wants to be attached to me.
Still likes being in a baby wrap.
Being outside, or looking outside from the window.
Having every one's attention on him.
Playing with his toys, and really just anything that he can get his hands on.
Twinkle Twinkle Little Star is his jam. I found this YouTube video of kids songs a while back and he still loves them. He will instantly stop crying when he hears it start playing.
Animals are probably his most favorite thing. Except for talking birds, those are apparently terrifying.

Least Favorite Things: Riding in the car when it's dark outside. Sleeping when mom isn't laying next to him. And most recently: baths!

Looking Forward to: Pictures with the Easter bunny. Taking him to the zoo, as soon as it warms up outside. And hopefully him sleeping through the night soon?!

He will no longer sit in this rocking chair for pictures. He thinks it's the funniest thing ever to just jump right out of it. ...Or just stand on it as shown above!

My little man has quite the personality already. I say it every month, but this age is my favorite so far. He gets more fun, and cute, everyday.
We love you so much baby boy, happy 8 months!

12 Recent "Mom"ents

I sat down to write a post about our week, only to then decide that we had a really boring one. Nolan didn't have any new firsts. There were no celebrations. Actually, I rarely even got dressed this week. But then I thought to myself that even without any excitement, every week is one to remember. It's another week that I got to be Nolan's mommy. Another week that I made it through as a new mom. Another week filled with little moments that I will miss so dearly years from now. Moments that I will want to share with Nolan, some that will make me laugh, and probably some that I would rather forget. I seen them to referred to as "mom"ents somewhere. And these are just some of them that I'm admitting to this week:

1. When I got up to leave a restaurant and saw the huge mess of puffs Nolan left underneath the highchair, I then proceeded to crawl around on the ground to pick them all up.

2. When we were standing in line at a VERY quiet bank and Nolan let out a super loud fart. I'm quite certain that everyone thought it was me.

3. When the Ikea employee had to stand there and wait as I removed and rearranged all of the baby gear in my trunk before he could load up the stuff I had just bought into it.

4. When I lied and said I didn't have a babysitter and couldn't go out, but really I just didn't want to leave my baby, or put on real pants..

5. When I answered the door for the pizza delivery guy with baby spit up unknowingly all down my shirt. I just told myself that he probably didn't notice it, he totally did though...

6. When I licked my baby's hand to make sure that I got all of the wasabi taste off of it after he stuck it into my plate of sushi. I looked around to see if anyone was watching me, and yes, yes they were.

7. When I gave my baby a dog toy to keep him occupied while I grocery shopped because the pet aisle was closer than the toy aisle.

8. When I held up the line at target because Nolan was making the cutest faces and I had to get a few pictures of him. It was worth it.

9. When we were taking a friend to the airport and Nolan snuck a cheez-it out of her carry on bag sitting by his carseat.  I let him keep it long enough for me to get a couple pictures..

10. When I went to the mall specifically to buy myself a couple of new shirts but left there with three shirts, two pairs of jeans, and a pair of shoes... for Nolan. Nothing for me.

11. When I snorted like a pig so many times that I got a headache, because it was making Nolan crack up laughing.

12. When I literally chased down a family member who was holding Nolan and trying to let him eat frosting. Not gonna happen.

And here's the picture of my little cheez-it bandit.

Will someone please tell me that every mom has moments like these too..
