Nolan's Easter Pictures

It's 10am on Easter morning and my baby boy is still sleeping! So while I anxiously wait for him to wake up and see his Easter basket, I'll share some photos. :)

Like I said in this post, we had some pictures taken with a real bunny. Nolan was super attached to me that day and cried as soon as I sat him down by the props. Until the photographer brought the bunny out, then he was perfectly fine!

The bunny was the cutest thing ever. He was so soft and cuddly. I wanted to keep him. Nolan did too. He kept pulling his ears and grabbing him. I had to pull his hands away every few seconds. Poor bunny, he was a trooper.

I think we may have to have a bunny at every photoshoot!
And, not try putting him in a box...

That adorable little man outfit is from Dillards, and the hat Target. I bought another outfit like that for him to wear today, and I haven't decided which one I think is cuter yet! Babies are so fun to dress up, they look cute in anything. :)

Happy Easter everyone!

Another Diaper Deal

Hurry to Target for another great deal on diapers! Today is the last day!

For every $150 spent in the baby department you will receive a $25 gift card, as well as a $10 gift card for every two boxes of diapers bought.

I got SIX boxes of diapers and a pack of wipes for under $132! AND, a basket, outdoor baby swing, and a pool float for FREE!
(Retail for it all= $226)

Here's a breakdown of how I took advantage of this deal:

I bought three boxes of Huggies, two boxes of Pampers, one box of Luvs, and one small pack of Pampers wipes. The total came out to 151.91.

First, I had them scan my phone for the $25 gift card deal (text SAVE to 827438). Then, I used three $3 off Huggies coupons (they were attached to each Huggies box), two $3 off Pampers coupons (coupons.com), one $1.50 off Luvs coupon (coupons.com), and one $0.25 off Pampers wipes coupon (coupons.com). You will automatically receive a $10 gift card for each two boxes of diapers scanned.

I used my Target Redcard to pay, which took off another 5%. Bringing my total to $136.96 after tax, and received $55 in gift cards. PLUS a catalina coupon printed for $7 off my next purchase (of anything). You will receive that with purchase of three boxes of Huggies, or a $5 one with purchase of two boxes of Huggies. THEN, I used an ibotta rebate for $5 back for the Luvs. Bringing the total down again to 131.96!

I used my gift cards and catalina to buy a big basket, outdoor swing, and pool float for Nolan's Easter basket!

If I would of thought about it at the time, I would of used the gift cards and did the diaper deal all over again. Paying only $75 out of pocket for six more boxes of diapers, and receiving all of the gift cards and catalina again. Then using those ones to still purchase the Easter basket stuff for free.

If you need to stock up on diapers you have got to do this deal!

FYI:
  • Make sure to have the cashier scan the $25 gift card offer before the other coupons.
  • Pampers Cruisers are not included in the $10 gift card offer.
  • You can only use four like coupons.
  • If you still haven't used the honest company coupon in the mobile offers, use it now for an extra $4 off.

Thank you Target!... Little man is good on diapers for a while. Now, time for me to finish fillin up that big ol' Easter basket. :)

Easter Basket Ideas

Easter is fast approaching and I still have not finished Nolan's Easter basket! I have a lot of ideas for it, and I'm sure that I will go way overboard. But hey, I'd rather do it now while he's a baby. At least he doesn't know that I'm spoiling him!

I know that I want to get him some summer clothes, an outdoor swing, and a pool float. I always get a book or two for every gift, and some sort of stuffed animal. He also needs some new sippy cups, and shoes. And, I'm going to buy a big enough basket that I can just use it in his room for toy storage after Easter.

I plan on throwing in some bubbles, I know he will be fascinated by them, and some snacks. He loves puffs, of course. Doesn't every baby? I bought this super cute container for them that I found on Instagram. It's on sale right now for $5. I really want to try and make some homemade puffs. Anyone know of a good recipe?
Maybe some carrot flavored ones that the Easter bunny would enjoy too? ;)

We got Nolan's picture taken with him yesterday..

I thought that he would be scared but, he actually liked him. He kept looking back at him and even laid his head on him like he was trying to snuggle. It was adorable.

A couple weeks ago we got his pictures taken with a real bunny too. I will be sharing them soon!

Happy almost Easter!

Our St. Patricks Day

Two years ago St. Patrick's day meant day drinking in Detroit with friends.

One year ago, it was spent being pregnant, and boring (sadly, I don't have a picture of that). But, this year I got to share it with a sweet little baby boy. And it was the luckiest one yet!

Although it was pretty windy outside, it was still a beautiful day. I couldn't wait to take Nolan to the park! So we put on our green and made our way there.

As we were leaving the house Stevie said "I can't believe you didn't do a photo shoot with Nolan". He knows me so well doesn't he....
I was definitely doing one, I was just waiting until we got to the park. :)

I stopped and got a green passion smoothie (delicious) from Panera Bread first. I planned on drinking it while I nursed Nolan in the car before we got out to play. But as soon as he saw it, he grabbed it and started sucking it down. So cute! He usually hates anything cold, but I guess it tasted too good for him to care.

As soon as i pried that away from him we walked to the park. It's right on the river, and Nolan enjoyed watching the water flow over the dam. I put him in the swing, which I'm still not sure if he loves or not. Here's a picture of him in it last week and then yesterday:

Same position, same face. He doesn't cry, but doesn't smile either. He's just sorta... chill.

So, here's our little photo shoot:

And one of mama and baby.

By the way, is his little jacket not the cutest?! I got it from Old Navy.

Since I'm still breastfeeding, I prefer not to drink alcohol at all. So instead of green beer, I made some shamrock floats!

They would make the perfect treat for kids. Along with these mint Oreo cupcakes, which were the BOMB.

You can find the recipe here.

Ill definitely be making them again.

Every holiday I like to do some sort of craft with Nolan. I know that he can't enjoy them yet, but I like having something to save for him from all of his firsts. Although hand print crafts are pretty difficult with a baby, I think they are the cutest. Nolan liked squeezing the paint between his fingers. And I liked cleaning up the huge mess after wards. Kidding..

It's supposed to be a four leaf clover. :)

Holidays are just so much better when you have kids. Because really, you just get to be a kid again yourself!

Also, I now know that when my baby won't eat his breakfast...
Just make him a smoothie instead ;)

Mama & Mr. Style: St Patrick's Day

It's warming up here in Michigan! I am beyond excited to put away the winter coats and bring out the spring jackets. And by bring them out, I mean go shopping for new ones. I found the cutest almost matching jackets ever this week. Because, well, there's nothing cuter than matching your little mini... even if that mini is a Mr.

I'm favoring green lately, which is perfect since St. Patty's day is this week! Rather than buying stuff with four leaf clovers and luck related sayings, I prefer to just get the stuff that we can wear again and again.

Here are some of my favorite springy green picks for matching your mini.

The moccs in the picture are Freshly Picked, but I bought some much cheaper ones here that are just as cute. Nolan is rocking them today, along with this adorable Old Navy hat that I'm in love with.

I tried to get him to smile, but instead I got the you're crazy look.

And soon after that, the hat was off and he was rolling away from me.

He's getting so mobile! It's going to be a fun spring/summer with this little babe. :)

Happy almost St Patrick's Day!

Diaper Deals

I got a pretty good deal on diapers and wipes today and wanted to share. Just in case anyone likes couponing as much as I do, and wants to get the deal as well. :)

4 boxes of diapers and 1 box of wipes for $52.82 from Target.

At Target you can use a cartwheel (an app) deal, store coupon, and manufacturer coupon together. Plus they have a gift card offer out right now: $20 GC with the purchase of three boxes of diapers (Pampers, Huggies, Up&Up and Honest Company brands).

For my first transaction I bought the two boxes of Honest Diapers (my favorite brand), and the box of Huggies. My Target redcard (it's a debit card) took off 5%, then I used cartwheel for 5% off of the Huggies. I had a Target coupon that they sent me in the mail for $10 off of $50 worth of diapers/wipes. Also, I used the $10 off of 2 boxes of Honest Diapers that I got from target mobile coupons (text BABY4 to 827438 to receive them). Last I used a $2 manufacturer coupon off of the Huggies. Bringing my total to 49.77, and received the $20 gift card.

For the second transaction I bought the wipes and Luvs diapers (I'm not a huge fan of Luvs, but I couldn't pass up the deal). My Target redcard took 5% off again. Then another cartwheel offer for 10% off of the Luvs, as well as a $0.75 off manufacturer coupon. Then another manufacturer coupon for $2 off of the wipes. I used my $20 gift card to pay for them. After that, my total was $8.05.

Then... I used an Ibotta app rebate (if you don't have it, get it!..it's so easy to use) for $5 back for the Luvs diapers. Bringing the total down to $52.82. Yay!

Nolan is 8 Months Old

Time is flying by over here, and March means that my baby is 8 months old! I wanted to do a post on my little man as he is currently, because he is changing so fast. I can't believe he will be one in four short months (insert crying emoji here).

Age: 8 months

Stats: Weighs 21 lbs 13 oz and is 2 ft 4 inches tall.

Sizes: 4 in diapers, 12 months in clothes.

Words: Mama and Dada.

Nicknames: Nolie, Nolie-polie, and chubs.

Milestones: Pulls himself up to standing position while holding onto something.
Tries to crawl, but mainly just scoots himself backwards.
His pincer grasp is well developed, he grabs everything!
Can drink from a sippy cup and a straw.

Foods: I make homemade baby food and it has been going pretty good. His favorites are green beans, sweet potatoes and avocados. He also can't get enough puffs! He very much dislikes carrots. We're just starting to try more solid of foods. He really likes to feed himself, so I bought this feeder, and we love it.

Favorite Things: Me! He is my velcro baby, always wants to be attached to me.
Still likes being in a baby wrap.
Being outside, or looking outside from the window.
Having every one's attention on him.
Playing with his toys, and really just anything that he can get his hands on.
Twinkle Twinkle Little Star is his jam. I found this YouTube video of kids songs a while back and he still loves them. He will instantly stop crying when he hears it start playing.
Animals are probably his most favorite thing. Except for talking birds, those are apparently terrifying.

Least Favorite Things: Riding in the car when it's dark outside. Sleeping when mom isn't laying next to him. And most recently: baths!

Looking Forward to: Pictures with the Easter bunny. Taking him to the zoo, as soon as it warms up outside. And hopefully him sleeping through the night soon?!

He will no longer sit in this rocking chair for pictures. He thinks it's the funniest thing ever to just jump right out of it. ...Or just stand on it as shown above!

My little man has quite the personality already. I say it every month, but this age is my favorite so far. He gets more fun, and cute, everyday.
We love you so much baby boy, happy 8 months!
